Why is NEP the future ahead?

NEP

The National Education Policy (NEP) released in 2020 is significant to future students in India. The NEP has introduced various provisions for undergraduate and postgraduate students. NEP brings a student-centric curriculum which promotes the holistic development of individuals leading to societal well-being centring on their intellectual, aesthetic, social, physical, emotional, ethical, and moral capabilities.

Higher education is focused on the development of students in fields of commerce, arts or science whereas NEP focuses on a curriculum that integrates these fields of study with technology and logical mathematics. The NEP 2020 states, “Assessments of educational approaches in undergraduate education that integrate the humanities and arts with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) have consistently shown positive learning outcomes, including increased creativity and innovation, critical thinking and higher-order thinking capacities, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, communication skills, more in-depth learning and mastery of curricula across fields, increases in social and moral awareness, etc., besides general engagement and enjoyment of learning”

Keeping in line with the substantial need of the hour, JG University has developed all of its programmes and respective curricula as per the requirement of NEP 2020. The programmes offered at JG University prepare students to migrate seamlessly into employment or self-employment. JG University's methodology is centred on recognising, identifying, and promoting each student's distinct strengths. All the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at JGUni have an innovative curriculum blending Commerce, Liberal Studies, Management, and Technology.

JG University provides flexibility to students as per the NEP guidelines and incorporates a choice-based credit system, a multidisciplinary approach, and multiple entry and exit options. The education system believes that students can choose to take a break in between the duration of their undergraduate course and can continue again and not lose their earned credits. Undergraduate programmes offered at JG University allow the flexibility to all the students to take an exit after the first, second and third year wherein they will receive a UG Certificate, UG Diploma and a UG Degree respectively. A student who continues in the fourth year of their Undergraduate programme will receive an honours degree.

NEP is the future and the education system will transform for the betterment of future generations. At JG University, excellence follows and nurtures the change leaders of tomorrow.
