In the last few years, AI, Coding, data science, have been really popular buzzwords. Their significance has grown exponentially, playing a pivotal role in various sectors. These are seen as skills that are crucial for fostering innovation, economic growth, and job creation. As India positions itself to be a global technology hub, proficiency in AI and coding becomes imperative for staying competitive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The era of COVID has had a tremendous impact on every individual irrespective of their sector. With struggling economies and loss of livelihood, the focus has turned towards individuals who are multi- skilled. In essence, the words of Charles Darwin ‘Survival of the Fittest’ seem personified.

More importantly, the pandemic has accelerated the adoption of AI across sectors in India. From healthcare to education, AI has played a crucial role in optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and addressing challenges posed by the pandemic.

The evolution of AI in India is marked by an increased focus on healthcare innovations, remote work solutions, and digital transformation. The integration of AI has proven instrumental in not only combating immediate challenges but also in shaping a more resilient and technologically advanced future for the nation.

As India continues to invest in digital infrastructure and skill development, the role of AI, coding, and data science is set to be even more central in driving progress and prosperity.

A report by E&Y estimates that GenAI could boost India’s GDP by 400 billion dollars by the year 2030. Till 2023, more than 600 million dollars in funding have flown in. By 2027, more than 16 million employees would be impacted by AI, which would call for reskilling and upskilling.

Through programmes like YUVAI (Youth for Unnati & Vikas with AI), the government has clearly shown their inclination to adopt AI in all major spheres. In such a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, it becomes imperative and our prime responsibility to equip our children and students with the necessary skills to not just survive but evolve.

The era has passed where computer-based skills were considered exclusively 'technical' and not accessible to all types of minds. Introducing children to AI, coding, and data science from a young age can foster problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity—qualities crucial for future professionals. This early exposure not only provides them with the tools to navigate the digital world but also empowers them to utilize technology for positive contributions. By ensuring early exposure, we establish a pipeline of skilled individuals, addressing the growing demand for tech talent in India.

In conclusion, as we witness the transformative impact of AI, data science, and coding, it becomes evident that these skills are not merely trends but indispensable tools for navigating the future.
